Thought for the Week: Who are you pleasing?

1 Thessalonians 2:4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.

Who or what is it that we try to please when we go about our daily activities?  I ask myself a question and would like you to ask yourself this same question whether you are a preacher, teacher, or evangelist as long as you are a Christian you are to spread the Gospel of Christ so here is the question: When I teach (
tell others about Christ or the Bible), am I doing so to please the listener (or make me look good) or am I teaching (telling others about Christ or the Bible) as the Holy Spirit leads?  Do I spread doctrines of men or the Word of God?

As it has been for thousands of years many desire to have their ears tickled and today it seems to be even more prevalent.  And these that only want a tickling, a feel good message do not want to hear that they need to change.  A simple or elaborate bless my socks off word is what they are wanting.

If you want blessings then become obedient to the Word of God and stop trying to tickle people's ears and stop looking for the feel good message.  Just make the changes God has directed you to make and believe me you will be blessed!

Just remember that as you speak and teach the people see and hear the things you do (for whatever the reason) but they might not see the hidden motive -- God though sees why you do the things you do!

God bless
